Send files from your phone to this PC
About 5 minutes, once. Everything stays on your local network.
Your phone sends files straight to a small app on this computer, the i6-share Hub. It runs in Google Chrome as an Isolated Web App, the only kind of web app that may open a network port. Use the one-line installer below, or follow the steps by hand. Your progress is saved, so you can close this page and come back.
Quick install (Debian 13)
One command does steps 1โ5 (Google Chrome, flags, the hub, the firewall) and opens the hub. Run it again to update.
Troubleshooting
- Same Wi-Fi. The phone and the PC must be on the same local network (the PC may use a cable to the same router).
- Guest networks and "AP/client isolation" block traffic between devices. Use your main network, or turn isolation off in the router settings.
- VPNs on the phone or the PC can route local traffic away. Pause them, or allow LAN access in the VPN app.
- The PC got a new IP address? Nothing to do. The phone searches the local network for its paired hub and finds it again.
- The phone says it can't reach the PC. Make sure the hub window is open, the firewall allows port 47616 (step 5), and Chrome on the phone may access local network devices (site settings โ Local network access โ Allow).
- "Pairing lost". The PC forgot the phone, for example after the hub was reinstalled. Open the hub and scan its QR code again.
- Installing fails or the menu is missing. Check that both flags in step 2 are set to Enabled and that Chrome was relaunched.
